What's new

Al-Khalid 2

i think al khalid 2 will not be produced rather buy and produce china T99 in pak under transfer for tec argrement and save time and money that what indai di insted of producing arjun in large no of future upgrade they are producing russin T90 which is a good tank.

WOrk on AL khalid II is already started

And the type 99 of china simply doesnt suite our terrain.
Al khalid II would be developed keeping thar desert and pakistan terrain in mind.
also type 99 series are close to 60tonnes.And al khalid is to weight around 55tonnes

beside this importing type99 would be expansive
Bt mass producing Al khalid II which apart from engine will be totally indegenous .e.g APS,FCS,chasis, transmission,Armor, and all the things
so al khalid II would cost us less

Nah, India will more than likely produce indigenously designed tanks from now until the foreseeable future. The Arjun does have some short comings though, a large one is that protection wise, it is actually inferior to the T-90, simply on the basis that it doesn't use heavy ERA, which is actually an extremely effective means for protection.

Mmm, wonder which other MBTs that also applies to ... uhm, Leo-2, Merkava IV, M1A2, LeClerc etc. Tsk, tsk, not a very sound logic.

Well, I'll expound on that. The Arjun, as it is now, is not a Chally or a Merkava or an Abrams, protection wise. On the RHAe to RHAe scale, the Arjun is inferior to what I just listed. Same with the T-90 (w/o ERA). However, add heavy ERA to the T-90 and you've got one of the best protected tanks in the world.

Excuse me, not really wright about era bricks make the t-90 the best protected tank since they're not so effective against the apfsds projectiles, once the brick is been detonated it will leave that part of the turret uncovered hence vulnerable to attack>

Newer 'heavy' era does have effects against apfsds but indeed once a brick has been detonated, that particular area's good protection is gone. So it then comes down to "who can lay down the most fire the quickest on a target'. IMHO advantages goes to the player with the best gunlaying and intervehicle communication/information systems (= instantly shared situational awareness + coordinated rapid action) and well-practised 'combined arms' (i.e. you pile it on from many weapon systems onto 1 target or group of targets). Bottom line: tank will die.

Yes it does not because it has better of both. Early generation of Ukrainian Nozh armor that was developed because Russians blocked the armor and 2a46 gun technology. What T-80ud has is better than K-5, and has a KBA-3 main gun, again which is their improvement of baseline 2a46-m gun and due to its success it is also in use with Yatagan and Oplot, not to mention the latest T-84U.

Only Relikit and Kaktus ERA is supposed to be better than K-5... and If we go by your logic then HVD Avadi is now using an Improved version of Relikit ERA made locally... even the main armour used on T-90 is Kanchan... Hence more protection.
