US-EX Head of Military and Former Pentagon Official revealed information regarding US operation inside Pakistan. He said that the "US troops were ready to launch operation in Pakistan but US forces not execute that operation plan because FEAR OF MASSIVE RETALIATION from Pakistan Military."

According to former pentagon official, "US Military requested to the ISI and Pakistan Military several times for help and support. Pakistan military threatened US forces with massive retaliation in response to any aggression against Pakistan. self contradictory and beyond logic and reason
both are war partners and allies in WoT. Pak-Mil simply preferred to conduct operations itself and only sought Intel and Drone help.
there was American instructors, CIA operatives and special ops in some cases but they assisted the Pakistanis.

believing that Pakistan military will be threatening an ally with massive reprisal just because the ally is offering help is utter stupidity

Following brief is based on my own personal opinion without checking Fox video. I will check video afterwards to see what reasons are given and might follow up with a post to comment on the video. I, on purpose chose to comment so that my opinion is not influenced by the fox.


What does “wont work” mean? Does it mean it cant be done? Does it mean it cant be done? Does it mean “desired goals” wont be achieved? Does it mean Iranian military can defend itself?


First, about Iranian military capability, well without meaning any disrespect, its in no position to put up an effective deterrent to stop the top tier air forces of the west along with the Arab allies with their latest aircrafts. Even the presence of rumored Russian S 300 SAMS or similar systems wont deter the West because its airpower has no much in the middle east.


But it wont work because


Air campaign wont be enough to topple Ayatullahs

Iranian nation has unrivaled resolve and will wage a war for decades inside middle east and rest of the world.


But it will work if the purpose is to destroy Iranian nuclear installations, bruise the Iranian pride, appease Saudis and Israelis and humiliate Iranians. What would happen in the end is that the attackers would antagonize the minor sects of Islam which the ISIS, Al Qaeda and their ideological allies and sponsors see as apostates and these minor sects will start something in a bigger scale than what Hizbullah has achieved so far. Would the west then bite the tongue and seek al Qaeda’s help to curb these Iranian fanatics? In short Middle east in particular and worl in general will be a bigger mess (in my opinion but if you ask some other middle eastern players and some decision makers in the west.. maybe it will be the best thing ever done. After all it’s the NeoCon favorite song “Bomb Bomb Iran Bomb Iran”.



So in short it depends who you ask


if you ask Israel and its Arab allies then they will be ecstatic because they have been pressurizing America to launch attacks on Iran for years.


If you ask ISIS, Al Qaeda and all its affiliate terror groups then they will do a happy dance because such attack will result in tens of thousands of deaths of Iranians and secondly it will give these terror groups more room to operate once the Iranian military is destroyed.


So, if the outcome in Syria, Iraq & Libya was exactly what as planned then why should Iran be spared? Its ayatollah government through its shambolic diplomacy and rhetoric gives enough reasons to the world to attack it anyways.



On the other hand, For those who see that such action will only add to turmoil and chaos and further strengthen the Al Qaeda and its affiliates and cause deaths and misery to tens of thousands of people and will contribute towards ISIS plan to expand into south east Asia as well.

Pakistan has alot of anti-shia organizations as well. They openly spread hatred and sectarianism in Pakistani society.

Pakistan has millions of shia...including thousands in the army as well.

Why doesn't Pakistani establishment and Intelligence agencies do anything against these sectarian worms? Isn't it stupid of you Pakistanis to not act against these agitators? Is Pakistan Army that dumb and stupid?

What am I missing here?

First of all, one reason can be the context of things, like gathering a small and reluctant coalition to attack some almost no-man's land in Syria, and gathering a coalition to attack Iran are two worlds apart. To bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities will be a very difficult, costly and vain endeavor even for the United States, due to the massive integrated Iranian air defenses, their deep underground special concrete facilities and their retaliatory capabilities.
Do not forget that a US study pointed out that the Iranians effectively control the strait of Hormuz, the life line of Oil.

you are correct , different political parties and even the military in the past protected the sectarian terrorists that later on joined the Al Qaeda and started beheading soldiers and even Sunnis in action to their routine shia killings. even today these organisations enjoy support from some religious parties and specially the current government.

it is wrong to say why hasnt Pakistani establishment hasnt done anything (but too little and too late though)

Gen Musharraf did order the Lal Masjid operation but it was the only one such operation against these terrorists and it was a half hearted operation and it was used by terrorists in their own favor. different cities of Pakistan have the stronghold of such terrorists who openly talk about genocide of minority sects and even the killing of moderate sunnis here.

what you are missing here is the political commitment and sincerity. the political class is wishing that this problem will go way and these terrorists will reduce the number of their murders and maybe stop attacking the army so the plight of say Shias and Ahmedis can be ignored as a routine.
