According to China source, Eagle Hannan also indicates that the Pakistan Navy is interested in the J-11Bs with Russian engines. This appears to be counter-intuitive given the sensitive nature of Russia's copyright relations with China. However, it is possible that Pakistan may attempt to placate this sensitivity by buying Russian engines and paying royalties. It is also possible that Russia is smarting from India's recent rejection of Russian military gear and move towards Western sources. These all make for a great deal of controversy and are likely to keep arm-chair generals and military analysts busy in the foreseeable future. What is clear is that Pakistan and the PAF will get a significant boost, in fact a major leap in capabilities in the next 12-24 months.

J-11B
bring on, baby! :bounce:

Good move, Pakistan will need to increase her budget by another 20% next year to get these babys.

Hope they do!!!

The J-11B aircraft are typically painted in different camouflage to the J-11A, with a medium blue grey upper surface, light grey lower surface, black radome, while the half ellipse grey area on the nose is overpainted with uniform camouflage

Known differences include:

A Chinese IRST set located in the centreline position as with the OLS-27 in early Su-27S.

A planar array multimode radar which resembles the Phazotron Zhuk-27 series. It includes an IFF interrogator array.

An Onboard Oxygen Generator System (OBOGS). Only the most recent Russian variants have an OBOGS.

A unique glass cockpit design, with an asymmetric layout quite different from the Su-30MKK/MK2 and Su-27SMK.

An optical MAWS system claimed to operate in the UV band.

Dielectric panels on the stabilators not seen on any Russian variant.

Chinese have reduced the RCS by 8 times. This makes J-11B, the flanker with lowest RCS

The differences between the J-11B, Su-27SK and Su-27SMK are sufficiently great that this must be considered a unique offshoot of the Flanker family of fighters, not a subtype of the baseline Su-27SK/J-11A.

Su-30 has got its Variants like Su-30 MKI & MKM which have canards where as other variants like Su-30 MK & the Chinese SU-30 MKK have got no canards.

A 20% increase in next year's budget would be like a dream come true, in reality it is not possible unless some critically drastic steps are taken by those who are in power (and have been in power directly or by proxy) against themselves for taxation.

How would u rank J-11B vs SU-30MKK?

J-11B had nothing to do with Su-30-MKK, its related to Su-27. Su-30MKK had canards, while J-11B and Su-27 doesn't have. Similar to Russia's Su-30 has got its variants like Su-30 MKI & Su-30 MKM which have canards where as other variants like Su-30 MK no canards.

But remember J-11B still has an RCS of 3m^2 and 80% decrease from Su-27, it has superior climb-rate and better acceleration, the MKK is more maneuverble at subsonic speeds and heavier.

For Pakistan Navy, it can get superb done in job. Wil likely more upgraded.

They developed on Su-27UBK (manufactured in China as J-11) with indigenous systems. Not SU-30MKK. The airframe was similar to that of SU-27 but 70% of the components used are of Chinese origin. A further development on J-11B is newly developed J-11BS that is thought to be in the same class of SU-30

Yaar look into J-10 / JF-17 Thread eaglehannan has been posted repeatedly with this J-11 Update !

Perhaps, I think, it is a bit distraction mixing with J-10/JF-17 info in which people don't pay attentions. Thank you, Black Blood.

This is whati want

if i were the ACM of PAF.

i would have even rejected the J-10B and go for J-11BS..

Yaar, J-10B is different multi role new front line for Pakistan land while J-11Bs's primarily job on sea.

Don't get frustrated due to PESA radar, it will be upgraded to AESA. China doesn't want to show it on public.

Russians need to feed their babies , and engines have to be sold , as one time literal spree-well said in his interview.

J11B would be great option for Pakistan Navy

Save the money for 2 new P3 Orion...
