Musharraf: Pakistan Exposed India's Military Weakness

If Kargil was a victory for the Pakistanis, then India cant be blamed for not being serious about the talks. Indians have to literally watch their back every time the talks are on, to avoid a repeat of Kargil.

yeah im too in this favour no talks with india.
Coz u r never were ready to talk , its ur hipocracy u show to the world tht u r ready to talk.U know ur minister came to Pakistan for Talks and 1 phone call came and his behaviour was changed , i think david headly called him to tell the our FM was also involved Mumbai attacks

Of course, you were serving tea to the Indian FM. That how you know right?

Lies.. Kargil exposed Musharraf's flawed planning, I was in Murree all throughout the crises, and I have seen first hand Kayani who was then GOC unhappy throughout the episode.
I know how bad it was even in CMH Murree which is normally never burdened with casualties from the front line.
True, at one point the Pakistani forces held the jugular supply vein of Kashmir for India. But when they were being bombed from the sky..then what?.. What if the Indians opened up another front..then what??..
sure there was the Initial "victories" and gains.. and then what??.. as famously asked by Benazir.. When the Indians invaded east Pakistan they had done their homework regarding international response and the endgame.. what had Mr Musharraf done?.. except gone in with bravado and given Nawaz Sharif a different picture altogether..both are equally responsible.. and answerable for the lives of thousands of our brave soldiers who never knew that they were walking into a deathtrap.

no doubt kargil war exposed our weakness:

1: we failed to immediately counter attack.
2: we failed to fight with full capacity.
3: we failed to attack on pak after recovering our territory.that was golden opportunity for IA to capture P O K.
4: another fault by Indian leaders who took 3 days for deciding that we defend our-self or not.

however i think it happened right with India in kargil war.kargil war teach us many things.

1: we learn that Pak can't be our friend.never believe on them.
2:after kargil war Indian army build their permanent base on LOC.
3:Indian army build a regiment who can counter any country with in 24 hours.
4: however "permission from parliament" problem it remain same....

The question is what was in that Phone Call that changed the bearing of the Indian FM?

I believe Kargil was just a drama that Musharaf staged to create bad air b/w him & Nawaz Sharif... So that as a result Musharaf would have excuse to bring Martial Law... Would anyone believe Nawaz really kept that plane from landing inside Pak...!!!

As Hamid Gul said that Martial Law of Musharaf was pre-planned by Americans... Since they had plans to invade Afghanistan & wanted an all-in-all "King" in Pakistan who would act as a slave to Americans...

On one hand Americans made Musharaf invade Kargil while on the other hand kept indian side from having a severe reaction... I mean if Kargil was for-real then it would have been start of a full fledged war b/w Pak & india,,, which did NOT happen...

Kargil was just one episode of the bigger 9-11 stage drama...

This is the weakest excuse he can give for his failed incursion..Kargil was nothing but heavy toll on our armed forced and economy as well total failiure. It bough PA into bad light world wide...These american agents aka talibans we have raised on our soil are disintegrating us from inside. Mushraff definately had handlers in CIA who later abadoned him as his stance grew more patriotic.

.

Just because things dont add up doesnt mean that there's a conspiracy theory involved. Kargil happened in '99, so the US was planning the 9/11 for 2 years? And how exactly did Kargil help 9/11?

Kargil, was Musharaff and Nawaz's plan to payback India for Siachen, but ended up as a fiasco and a bad PR for Pakistan. Period.

I think the worst part of planning was trying to pull off that it was the Mujahideen and not NLI that was occupying the heights. But once India got its act together and bodies of regular Pak soldiers began arriving, the truth was staring everybody in the face.

In terms of initial surprise it was a masterstroke, but Mushy under-estimated India's response. And Nawaz failed to follow up with a diplomatic offensive.

Musharaf and other Generals involved in Kargil War should be court marshal

The end game was not thought out. The initial objectives were met and it surprised even the planners. It was a fiasco no doubt, shouldnt have happened.
